There is hereby established an organization of thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons of Asia .
The name of the organization shall be The Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons of Asia (ATCVSA).
The secretariat of the Association shall be relocated every four years to the country of the Secretary-Treasurer who shall be elected by the Council once every four years. It shall operate according to these Articles and By-Laws.
Article II - Objectives
To improve the quality and practice of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery as a specialty in the region.
To encourage basic and clinical research in the field of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery.
To promote the professional development of those surgeons specializing in the field of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery.
To organize and hold a regional congress for scientific presentations and discussions every two years.
To cooperate with other regional and international bodies in scientific and educational programmes.
